Charles Frode was trained by the Instructional Training Company (Ernie Stachowski) in Peer Coaching and Staff Development, Effective Instruction and lesson planning with Madeline Hunter, language acquisition with Stephen D. Krashen and James Cummins, both Roger & David Johnson and Spencer Kagan advanced cooperative learning, Robert Marzano, and essay writing with Jane Schaffer.

He has trained secondary and adult schools and districts in all of the above instructional technologies. Frode has worked successfully side-by-side with mainstream secondary, adult, and university students and teachers. He has worked with English Language Learners in the classroom for over 35 years. He has been mentor teacher for English departments, and he has been on special assignment to restructure an English department through a grant from Carnegie Mellon. He currently works with incarcerated juveniles. 

His expertise is in lesson planning, building rapport, and teaching writing and creative writing.
